Can I visit The La Crosse Lighthouse before my stay? How do I arrange to stay there?
To maintain the privacy of our guests, we do not allow visits before a stay. However, if you're interested, you can arrange a stay by having an initial phone conversation with one of our Peer Supporters. This conversation will help determine if The La Crosse Lighthouse is the right fit for you. If both parties agree, we will discuss your arrival or explore other resources if needed.

Do I need insurance to stay there?
No insurance is required to stay at The La Crosse Lighthouse, and there are no costs associated with the stay. Our funding comes from grants and donations.

Where are you located?
We are located in La Crosse, WI. For privacy and safety, our exact location is only provided to accepted guests.

What are the basics I should know about a stay?

We offer non-medical support.

Respite stays range from 1 to 5 days.

Guests must be 18 or older and residents of Wisconsin.

Guests are responsible for their own transportation, medication, personal care, and meals.

Basic food staples (milk, bread, etc.) are provided, and guests have access to a full kitchen.

Laundry is available only in emergency situations.

Can I have visitors during my stay?
To maintain confidentiality and privacy for all guests, we ask that visitors be met in the community, not at the house. We’re open to discussing individual circumstances if needed. We do not accommodate couples or families

What kind of support is offered?
We aim to create a peaceful sanctuary for healing. Some guests prefer privacy and rest, while others seek more engagement. We offer:

Self-Referral Process: Guests refer themselves for a stay. After a phone conversation, we determine if The La Crosse Lighthouse is a suitable option.

Food & Amenities: Basic food staples are provided, and guests have access to a full kitchen to prepare their meals. Storage space is available in the fridge and pantry.

Private Space: Guests stay in private bedrooms with locked doors and access to lockboxes for securing medications. All personal care and responsibilities are self-managed.

Wellness Planning: If guests are interested, we offer support in creating a personalized Wellness Plan to help guide their journey toward recovery and growth.
